WallStreet opened lower and traded on the downside the whole session. A late sell-off however had the DJIA end near its low. US equities markets remain volatile.
The local equities market also opened lower because of the big drop in WallStreet. However the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) was able to recover and even closed higher near the 2700 level. This is the fourth time in around 2-3 weeks that losses of more than 200 points in the DJIA were shrugged off by the Philippine Stock market.

WallStreet had a huge rally as the Fed keeps rates unchanged and hints that it is not likely to increase in the near term. The DJIA opened higher and continued its steady advance to close near its high. The Fed also sees that US Inflation will ease.
World Crude prices drop further and was below $120 a barrel. It has fallen around $28 a barrel since July 11.
The local equities market surged on back of the huge advance in the DJIA. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) opened higher and steadily advanced in the first hour of trading. It then consolidated its gains for the rest of the session and also closed near its high.

World Oil Prices falls to a three month low at around $120 a barrel.
The US Fed is widely expected to maintain rates unchanged at 2.00%. Unemployment is at its highest in 4 years.
Today, the local equities market continues to consolidate near the 2600 level. It again moved in a narrow trading range. Despite data coming out that inflation for July rose to 12.2%; which is a 16-year high; the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) managed to eke out marginal gains.
