Stock Market Matters - June 23, 2007

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was down on Friday by a whopping 185.58 points as a large hedge fund posted disappointing returns on its investments in sub prime mortgages. A bail-out has not stemmed fears of a contagion effect on other funds' investments.

The DJIA closed at 13,360.26 as it fell for the week after a double top formation at the 13,680 level was seen.

Oil nears the $70 a barrel price level. Gold is just above $650 an ounce.
