The DJIA had a modest rebound at the resumption of trading after the Memorial Day break. It was able to close above the 12500 level.
World Crude prices trades below the $130 a barrel level.
The local equities market opened higher and traded on the upside for the first half-hour. But as the market still struggles with investor confidence concerns; it reversed sentiment and continued its decline into negative territory. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) ended the day near its low.
