The Dow Jones at a new record close (July 13, 2007)

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was up by 45.52 points on Friday and closed at another record high at 13907.25

US retail sales drop an unexpected 0.9% in June; the worst in two years. Excluding auto sales, the drop would be 0.4%.

June imports rise 1%, due in part to oil prices. Excluding oil, it would be a gain of 0.2%.

So far, corporate buybacks has been fueling the rise in WallStreet; but mutual funds posted outflows.
