Investors however managed to shrug off concerns on the local political arena. Even with another rally scheduled in the afternoon at the Makati Financial District; the market rebounded and closed higher.
With Gold and Oil prices in the world markets near record highs; the Mining-Oil (M-O) sector led the day's rally.

Investors continue to remain cautious ahead of the weekend and preferred to await further developments both on the state of the US stock market and the Philippine political front.

The advance in WallStreet prompts another modest rise in the local equities market. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) continues to build a base above the 3200 level. And just like the DJIA, it closes off its intraday high as it gives back some of its gains.

With WallStreet posting a triple digit drop, a correction in the local equities market was induced after the gains in the past several days. The next support levels are being tested.
Developments in the local political arena, also weighed down the market. Investors are keeping an eye on how the forceful move to change the leadersip in Congress last night will play out in the next few days. Any prolonged and expansion of conflict that may once again polarize the people may become a cause of concern. An immediate resolution is most welcome. As yet, most people seem to be interested in following the story but also remain indifferent.

With the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) firming up above the 12,500 level, the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) hurdled the 3300 level and consolidated above it to try and build a support base.
