The DJIA again moved within a wide trading range (180 pts). It even went below the 11100 level but managed to close with modest gains above 11200.
World Crude prices again reached the $140 a barrel level.

The local equities market tried to hold its ground in the first half hour of trading. Selling pressure however soon overcame the market as most investors liquidated before the weekend. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) ended slightly lower as punters also took profits on the select thirdliner movers which enjoyed brisk trades since yesterday.
