WallStreet tried to go over the 11500 level but it soon retreated and ended lower for the day. It declined by a quarter of a percent after having gone up more than 500 points the past three trading days.
The local equities market was flat and trading was very uneventful. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) moved within a very narrow range of 10 points. It ended marginally down and closed at its low; but it is still above the 2400 level.
