The Philippine Stock Market ended the last full week of trading for the year 2008 on a flat note. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) consolidated for the past two days (Dec 18-19) at the 1900 level in preparation for an expected (or a very badly hoped for) year-end window-dressing on Monday to Wednesday (Dec 22-24) next week.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) cuts its policy rates by 50 basis points. It lowered overnight borrowing to 5.5% and overnight lending to 7.5%.
