WallStreet opened higher, held onto its gains and had a strong finishing kick to end near its high.

The local equities market also opened higher together with the other asian stock markets; as the large gains in the US boosted sentiment. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) however pulled back and continued its consolidation (from yesterday) near the 2000 level.
