The local equities market opened strong on back of the 2.5% advance in WallStreet. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) touched its high within the first 15 minutes of trade but heavy selling on several key issues abruptly cut the rally. The market then headed lower and even ended near its low.
