WallStreet surges overnight by more than 200 points and breaks the Oct. 8, 2007 high of 10,124.03.

The local equities market jumped upon the opening bell and was up throughout the trading session. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) even had a stronger finishing kick and closed at its high. It is now just a shade under the key 3,000 level.
