The Philippine Stock Market - September 16, 2009

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) again closed higher by 56.61 points last night to end at 9683.41. It is currently at its highest levels since Oct. 8, 2008.

The local equities market opened higher and tried to go above the 2800 level. It however failed to hold its ground and sentiment soon reversed. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) ended lower again today on lighter value turnover, even as other asian equities markets were up.
