WallStreet bounced back after the previous day's drop and a weak opening, as the US Secretary of Treasury says that most US banks have adequate capital. The DJIA closed near its high and is once again just below the 8000 level.

The local equities market got a boost as it traded with an upward bias. After the initial rise. the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) consolidated its gains and closed near its high
