With WallStreet declining and the DJIA closing near its low, the local equities market traded with a downward bias. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) moved within a narrow range.

The 1st Quarter Philippine Budget Deficit is at PhP 119.70 bn. The January to March shortfall is already 60% of the PhP 199.20 bn ceiling set for 2009. For March, the deficit reached PhP 52.6 bn; 186% higher than the same period last year.

The revenue for the 1st Qtr reached PhP 235.4 bn; 7.2% lower than last year. Infrastructure Spending rose by 73.5%.
