WallStreet mounted a strong rally overnight and the DJIA was up by more than 2 1/2% and ended near its high.

The local equities market got a big boost from the large advance in WallStreet and also kept up with the gain of more than 2 1/2%. The market rallied with improved volumes and the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) tested the 2200 level to establish new 6-month highs.
