The local equities market; after just hovering under the 2300 level the past days, finally had a strong push to break the key resistance level. Investors were able to build confidence the past days as the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) was able to hold at around the 2250 level despite huge drops in WallStreet during a couple of sessions. The market advance was broader-based and the second/third-tier stocks also rallied.
